SELECT A DAY:
PRAY

Pray the daily prayer out loud.
Do the 7 Minute Morning prayer first thing in the day.

Lord, I am Your son.

I come to You now in the name of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, of whom You said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)

Father God, because I am in Christ, You now speak those same words over me—over my heart, mind, soul, and body:

“This is My son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Today I receive Your fatherly affection.

In Christ, I receive Your attention and Your loving gaze.

I receive Your love.

As Jesus said, “As the Father has loved Me, so I have loved you. Remain in My love.”

Lord, today I remain in Your love.

I receive Your love and breathe it in deeply.

I remind myself today that this love, acceptance, and validation from the Father are gifts through Christ Jesus that I simply receive like a child.

Because I am Your child, show me my sonship in Christ today.

Help me remember it throughout this day.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Father God, I come to You today as Your servant.

You are my Master, my Sensei, my Teacher, my Rabbi.

You are the Lord of lords and the King of kings over the whole universe.

I come humbly and submit myself to You as Your servant, ready to listen and obey.

Teach me to walk humbly with You and to delight in my Father’s business.

Just as Jesus learned obedience through suffering (Hebrews 5:8), I remind myself today that through the difficulties of life, I too am learning obedience.

Lead me, Lord.

Lord, I am a warrior in Christ Jesus, created by the Warrior God. (Exodus 15:3)

I have been created for battle, for we are in a desperate fight for the souls of men.

Today I present myself to You as a warrior, dressed and ready in the full armour of God.

I set my mind and heart to listen to the Captain’s call and the General’s commands—to listen and obey.

Today, I put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace;

I take up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit - the Word of God.

I put on each piece of armour with prayer and faith. I wield the sword of the Spirit - the Word of God - with confidence and authority.

I remind myself that I have an enemy, but that my enemy has already been completely defeated.

In Christ, I have authority over the enemy.

Today I am called to fight the good fight and to complete the task and calling You have given me.

I remind myself that You are with me and that You fight on my behalf as I fully submit to You.

Teach me more today about being a warrior in Christ.

Amen.

Jesus, as I come to You today, I am reminded that You told Your disciples,

“I no longer call you servants; I call you friends.” (John 15:14)

Thank You for calling me and drawing me into friendship with You.

Thank You that I am growing beyond simply being a servant into knowing Your heart, hearing Your voice, and living according to Your heart.

As friends share their hearts with one another, thank You that You know my heart.

Lord, I want to know more of Your heart.

I give You my heart and ask You to examine it.

Show me anything that would hinder our friendship, so that I may live fully devoted, completely surrendered, and walking humbly and intimately with You, my Friend.

Holy Spirit, thank You that You are my Friend.

Thank You that You dwell within me, walk with me, and hem me in behind and before.

Lead me today and show me more of what it means to be a friend of God.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen.

PRAY

Father God,

I come before You today asking for a deeper revelation of the fear of God.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10), and Lord, I want to grow in Your wisdom.

The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. (Psalm 19:9)

Teach me to walk in the fear of the Lord, constantly aware of You,

honoring and revering You, every hour of every day.

Let it not be a fear that causes me to flee, to avoid You.

But a fear that draws me near to You in reverent awe.

Lord, as John saw Jesus in a new way in his revelation (Revelation 1:17)

reveal more of Your character and nature to me, that I too would fall before You in worship and awe.

I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.
