SELECT A DAY:
PRAY

Pray the daily prayer out loud.
Do the 7 Minute Morning prayer first thing in the day.

Lord, I am Your son.

I come to You now in the name of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, of whom You said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:17)

Father God, because I am in Christ, You now speak those same words over me—over my heart, mind, soul, and body:

“This is My son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Today I receive Your fatherly affection.

In Christ, I receive Your attention and Your loving gaze.

I receive Your love.

As Jesus said, “As the Father has loved Me, so I have loved you. Remain in My love.”

Lord, today I remain in Your love.

I receive Your love and breathe it in deeply.

I remind myself today that this love, acceptance, and validation from the Father are gifts through Christ Jesus that I simply receive like a child.

Because I am Your child, show me my sonship in Christ today.

Help me remember it throughout this day.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Father God, I come to You today as Your servant.

Lord, I am a warrior in Christ Jesus, created by the Warrior God. (Exodus 15:3)

I have been created for battle, for we are in a desperate fight for the souls of men.

Today I present myself to You as a warrior, dressed and ready in the full armour of God.

I set my mind and heart to listen to the Captain’s call and the General’s commands—to listen and obey.

Today, I put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace;

I take up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit - the Word of God.

I put on each piece of armour with prayer and faith. I wield the sword of the Spirit - the Word of God - with confidence and authority.

I remind myself that I have an enemy, but that my enemy has already been completely defeated.

In Christ, I have authority over the enemy.

Today I am called to fight the good fight and to complete the task and calling You have given me.

I remind myself that You are with me and that You fight on my behalf as I fully submit to You.

Teach me more today about being a warrior in Christ.

Amen.

Jesus, as I come to You today, I am reminded that You told Your disciples,

“I no longer call you servants; I call you friends.” (John 15:14)

Thank You for calling me and drawing me into friendship with You.

Thank You that I am growing beyond simply being a servant into knowing Your heart, hearing Your voice, and living according to Your heart.

As friends share their hearts with one another, thank You that You know my heart.

Lord, I want to know more of Your heart.

I give You my heart and ask You to examine it.

Show me anything that would hinder our friendship, so that I may live fully devoted, completely surrendered, and walking humbly and intimately with You, my Friend.

Holy Spirit, thank You that You are my Friend.

Thank You that You dwell within me, walk with me, and hem me in behind and before.

Lead me today and show me more of what it means to be a friend of God.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen.

Father God,

I come before You today asking for a deeper revelation of the fear of God.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10), and Lord, I want to grow in Your wisdom.

The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. (Psalm 19:9)

Teach me to walk in the fear of the Lord, constantly aware of You,

honoring and revering You, every hour of every day.

Let it not be a fear that causes me to flee, to avoid You.

But a fear that draws me near to You in reverent awe.

Lord, as John saw Jesus in a new way in his revelation (Revelation 1:17)

reveal more of Your character and nature to me, that I too would fall before You in worship and awe.

I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Precious Lord Jesus,

Teach me today to walk the path of dying to myself and living in You.

I have died, and my life is now hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3).

Jesus said that unless a seed dies, it cannot produce fruit (John 12:24).

Without dying, nothing can truly live.

Though the world continually tempts me to put myself first, You have shown me that true life is found in dying to self each day.

You said that we must take up our cross daily and follow You (Luke 9:23).

Today, I surrender my life anew to You.

Teach me to die to myself in every area and every relationship, so that Christ may be revealed in me and through me, for Your glory.

I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Father God,

As I die to myself today, I choose to live for Christ.

I recognize that every piece of the armor of God that You have given us, is Christ Himself (Ephesians 6:10–17).

In prayer I put on the belt of truth—Jesus is truth.

The shield of faith—I live in the faith of the Son of God.

The helmet of salvation—Jesus Himself is my salvation.

And I take up the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God—Jesus Himself is the living Word.

Through Your grace, lead me and guide me today.

Thank You for giving me the same Spirit of love that was in Jesus Christ, when He walked upon the earth.

Fill me afresh with Your love today, Holy Spirit.

Your Word says that we cannot claim to love God while not loving others (1 John 4:20).

Lead me to walk in Your love and represent You well to the people around me.

Help me to obey You by expressing Your love in practical ways to everyone I meet.

I rely on Your grace to do this.

In Jesus’ name.

Amen.

Father God,

Today, I choose to rejoice.

I speak to my soul—my mind, my emotions, and my will—and I declare,

"Bless the Lord, O my soul" (Psalm 103:1).

I command my soul to submit to my spirit, which is united with You through the Holy Spirit.

Strengthen me to rejoice in the salvation You have given me, regardless of the battles, difficulties, or challenges that I or those around me may face.

Indeed, I choose rejoicing as my weapon in the many battles of life. As I rejoice, celebrate and worship, Lord, send an ambush and defeat the enemy, as you did for Jehosophat (2 Chronicles 20:21–23).

The joy of the Lord is my strength (Nehemiah 8:10).

Lead me today as I choose to rejoice.

I ask this in Jesus' name.

Amen.

Father,

Today I choose to remain in Your Word—to remain in the words of Christ.

Thank You that faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:17).

I choose to fill my mind, heart and my mouth with Your Word.

Whether I fully understand it or not, I will memorize it, declare it and sing it by faith—until it becomes second nature to me.

As I remain in Your Word and Your Word remains in me (John 15:7), transform my heart, my mind, and my emotions to align with Your truth through the Holy Spirit who lives within me.

Though my mind is slow to understand, I choose to live by the faith that rises from my spirit, as I remain in Your Word.

Strengthen me today.

I ask this in Jesus' name.

Amen.

Father,

I come to You today because I want to grow in brotherly love in Christ Jesus.

You came not to be served, but to serve and to give Your life as a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:28)

As a new creation in Christ, my life is now joined with Yours for that same purpose.

As I walk in obedience to Your voice, I recognise that You have called me to serve those around me.

You created me to live in brotherly love.

Jesus, You became a man so that You could become the firstborn among many brothers and bring many sons to glory.

(Hebrews 2:10–11)

I recognise that I have been born into a family—a brotherhood.

Father, I surrender every part of me that resists the humility that is needed to build the brotherhood that You have called me to.

Holy Spirit, realign my heart with this glorious purpose.

Show me the inheritance You have placed in the brothers around me, and remove anything that hinders me from growing in the fullness of the brotherly love You intend for me.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Today, I come before You, asking that you teach me and help me to bear my brothers’ burdens.

You called ordinary men to follow You, shared Your life with them, and entrusted them to represent You on the earth through the power of the Holy Spirit.

You carried our ultimate burden on the cross—and now You have commissioned us to go into all the world and express Your life through our lives in practical, tangible ways.

Jesus, You said that the world would know we are Your followers because of our love we have for one-another.

(John 13:35)

Teach me what it means to be a true brother in Christ—to carry one another’s burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ.

At the same time, show me the load, the responsibilities that I—and each brother—must carry for ourselves.

(Galatians 6:2–5)

Help me discern the difference, so that together we may become the family—the brotherhood—You desire us to be.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Amen.

Dear Father,

In Christ, I make myself a servant—a slave—to everyone for Your Name and Your glory.

Lord, You created me with a desire for greatness. However, You taught that whoever wants to be great must become the servant of all.

You did not deny our desire but You showed us the path to true greatness is through humility, servanthood and self-denial.

(Mark 10:42–45)

Lord, I long for genuine, deep, intimate relationships—in family, friendship, marriage, brotherhood—yet I confess that my pride and ego often stand in the way.

Today I surrender every part of me that opposes what Your Spirit longs to produce in me.

Give me deeper understanding and revelation of true greatness, and what it really means to be a brother in Christ.

Teach me to walk the path of humility and servitude.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus,

I offer myself to You today, to be a living example follower of Christ to everyone I meet.

I offer myself for this purpose particularly to those closest to me.

Lord, You showed us an example by serving Your disciples, washing their feet, and laying down Your life for them.

You called us to follow Your example.

Your servant Paul also urged his brothers to imitate his example as he followed Christ.

(1 Corinthians 11:1)

Lord, I surrender my false humility that says I cannot be an example to others.

I renounce the lie that I am not worthy or not qualified; for You have called me and qualified me through Christ to live as His example.

(1 Timothy 4:12)

I give You every part of my life—especially the hidden places known only to You and those closest to me.

I repent of making excuses. I fix my eyes on Jesus, and remind myself that my qualification comes through Christ, not through my own efforts.

Help me to humbly live as an example to those around me, especially those within my closest circle of influence.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Amen.

Dear Lord Jesus,

I ask You today, to help me stand firm both alone and together with others—brothers and the family of believers You’ve called me to.

Thank You for the family of God and the brotherhood of all believers which You have brought me into through Christ.

I also remember that in life there are battles I must face alone—relying on the truth that You are with me, and I am never alone.

(Hebrews 13:5)

Thank You, Holy Spirit, that You are with me and living in me.

I remember how Jesus, You were filled with the Holy Spirit and immediately led by the Spirit to spend forty days in the wilderness learning to find Your strength in the Holy Spirit given by the Father.

Lord, I remember how many of Your servants throughout Scripture—Joseph, Moses, David, the prophets—learned to stand firm through long seasons of solitude.

Strengthen me, Lord, to find my strength and sustenance in the secret place of Your presence. And give me wisdom to walk in balance—growing strong in my personal walk with You while also walking humbly alongside my brothers in Christ.

I ask this in Jesus' name,

Amen.

Father God,

Show me how my love for You must be reflected in how I love others.

As You continue to reveal Your love to me, teach me how to express that love to those around me, especially my family, my brothers in Christ and the family of faith.

Your Word says that whoever claims to love God yet does not love his brother is a liar.

(1 John 4:20–21)

Lord, I desire to have an undivided heart, where my love for You is reflected in the way I love others.

Search my heart and know me. Reveal any pride, offence, or wounded way within me.

I renounce and surrender those things that hinder or damage relationships.

Lead me to walk in Your light—as You are in the light—where the blood of Jesus cleanses me from all sin, and I am restored to fellowship and relationship with others.

(1 John 1:7)

Teach me to express my love for You in practical, tangible ways through the way I love the people You have placed around me.

I give my life to You for this purpose.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Today I choose to submit to others out of reverence for Christ. (Ephesians 5:21)

I remind myself that I have died, and my life is now hidden with Christ in God.

(Colossians 3:3)

Therefore my pride, my ego, and my need to defend, validate, or promote myself were crucified with Christ.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for showing us the example, when although You had all authority, You humbled Yourself. Like a lamb led to the slaughter, You remained silent before Your accusers.

(Isaiah 53:7)

Though You could have called on legions of angels, You chose the path of humble obedience to the cross.

(Matthew 26:53)

Teach me that submission is not weakness, but the expression of Christ's love through the strength You have given me.

I surrender this area of my life to You. Show me today how to walk in humble submission to others out of reverence for Christ.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Heavenly Father,

I present my body to You right now as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You as a spiritual act of worship.

(Romans 12:1)

I surrender my body—my physical being, my mind, and the emotions connected to my appetites. I submit them to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

I recognise that Your Holy Spirit lives in me and brings forth the fruit of self-control.

(Galatians 5:22–23)

I thank You, Lord, that Your grace has appeared, bringing salvation and teaching us to reject ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives.

(Titus 2:11–12)

I do not want to live merely by external rules, but in response to the grace You have given me.

Lord, in Your grace show me how to establish life-giving disciplines.

Teach me how to train my body, bringing it under control, so that it may be a vessel of worship for Your glory.

(1 Corinthians 9:24–27)

I ask this in Jesus’ name.

Father, I confess that, like Peter, I can have my mind set on the things of men, rather than on the things of God.

(Mark 8:33)

Right now I submit every thought to Your truth, and ask You to reveal areas where I am believing, agreeing with lies, or living according to something that is not in line with Your word.

I also give You the God-given desires that must remain under Your lordship. I surrender my appetite for food and drink, my need for comfort, and my sexual desires. These desires are not my master. Jesus, You are my Master.

Thank You that You empower me to not only walk in forgiveness and love, but even to love my enemies, do good to those who hate me, bless those who curse me, and pray for those who mistreat me.

(Luke 6:27–28)

Thank You that the power of the cross of Jesus Christ lives in me now, enabling me to forgive and not judge.

(Luke 6:37; Colossians 3:13)

Lord, I consecrate my heart and my emotions to You.

Show me how to master my emotions and not be mastered by them.

I ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
