Talk with Jesus

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. 1 Peter 2:11

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18

Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry. 1 Corinthians 10:14

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22

As you read today’s scriptures, talk with Jesus using the following:

• Do I see Your instructions as a reflection of Your love or just rules to follow?*
• Show me more of how Your love for me is reflected in Your instructions.

Prayer:

Father God, when I read in Your Word passages that say to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and flee from idolatry (1 Corinthians 10:14), I hear a loving Father showing the way of freedom for His children. I choose to run from things that war against my soul, and run instead to You and Your freedom.
