I Will Praise You

You are Worthy

At moments of weariness and frustration over waiting for this unmet desire, I would actually withhold worship to God. If I felt like He was withholding provision, I didn’t feel like drawing near, and I would withhold myself from Him, along with my worship... When I withheld myself from Him, I would also be forgoing that companionship and basically telling Him I would do it on my own - but doing life on my own, apart from Him even for a day is so lonely!

I have been learning to stand on His word (to hold on to my trust, my joy, my peace, my love for God), to worship Him for His worthiness, even in seasons where I cannot see Him; when I am struggling in things like waiting on Him for years.

Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. Psalm 96:2,4

To be able to say, He is worthy, He is kind, even in the midst of unanswered desires...

I will bless the Lord at all times - His praise will continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1

You are Faithful, Kind and Good

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever. Psalm 30:11-12

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. Hebrews 13:15

For the Lord takes delight in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory.
Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor
and sing for joy on their beds.
May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands

Psalm 149:4-6

It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night. Psalm 9:1-2

I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together. Psalm 34:1

Then will I go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight... Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God. Psalm 43:4a, 5

I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, O Lord, for it is good. Psalm 54:6

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Psalm 103:1

But I trust in Your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me. Psalm 13:5-6

I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us—yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses. Isaiah 63:7

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him. For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does. Psalm 33:1, 4

How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You. Psalm 31:19

I will praise You for Your faithfulness (reliability, sureness), O my God. My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to You. Psalm 71:22a, 23a

For You are my hope, O Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth... My praise is always for You. Psalm 71:5, 6b

Talk with Jesus

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock
And gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
And put their trust in the Lord.

Psalm 40:2-3
