Note: The next few sections have a focus on healing from sexual sin. Please ask God to lead you in which portions to spend time on, and which portions to skip.

As you read these scriptures, ask God to speak to you from His Word.

Forgiven, Healed, Purified

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Washed, Cleansed, Renewed, Restored

But you were washed (cleansed), you were sanctified (made holy), you were justified (made right/declared free of guilt) in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:11b

The Greek word for sanctified is hagiazo1 and the Hebrew is qadash2 which means:

  • To separate from profane things and to wholly dedicate to God, to purify; to cleanse externally.
  • To be holy, set apart as sacred.
  • To purify: cleanse externally, freed from the guilt of sin by atonement, purified internally by the renewing of the soul.
