All night long on my bed I looked for the One my heart loves; I looked for Him but did not find Him.
Song of Songs 3:1
Journal Entry, Age 36, June 14
Each day since the bike accident, when seeing my bruised legs and chin and cut lip, I felt sad... felt sad towards God... and struggled to talk to Him. I did feel ‘dropped’ by You... but I am searching for Your heart - sure of Your goodness... show me more...
In the evening, I took a shower and was reminded about my shower in Hawaii (Age 19, shared in Day 20) when He showed me, literally, how He washed me clean.
I felt His love, washing my wounds in the shower. I felt His loving hands, caring for each wound, even kissing each wound like a parent does for a child.
Journal Entry, Age 36, October 30
This week I’ve been struggling to feel Your nearness... I couldn’t find You. Anywhere. It felt like You were hidden from me.
I didn’t not believe You or Your goodness, although I was confused and sad. It seemed that each time I opened the Bible this week, my eyes fell on scripture that spoke of Your goodness - It was as if You kept showing me through Your Word... I believe Your Word, even in times when I don’t feel it!
Talk with Jesus
Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. Yet when He hear that Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was for two more days. John 11:6
... but my lover had left; He was gone.
My heart sank at His departure.
I looked for Him but did not find Him.
I called Him but He did not answer.
Song of Songs 5:6
Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
God my Savior.
Though my father and mother forsake me,
the Lord will receive me.
Psalm 27:9-10
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
What are You speaking to me about this? How are You leading me to respond to Your love?
