Talk with Jesus

Read the following verses aloud, and after reading, pray out the verses to God. Thank Him, express your amazement, express your desires.

As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is flawless.
He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.
For who is God besides the Lord?
And who is the Rock except our God?
It is God who arms me with strength
And makes my way perfect.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
He enables me to stand on the heights.
He trains my hands for battle;
My arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You give me Your shield of victory,
And Your right hand sustains me;
You stoop down to make me great,
You broaden the path beneath me,
So that my ankles do not turn.

Take a look at your notes from the past few days regarding the areas of temptations you have faced in your life. Bring these questions to Jesus and talk with Him about it.

• “Purity is possible.” Show me what this means for my life.
• “Resisting temptation is possible.” Show me what this looks like for my life, and show me the ways out that You always provide in times of temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13). What are you showing me regarding the reasons to resist temptation, and the ability that I have to resist temptation?

Prayer:

I want to stand firm in all the areas where I have been weak to temptation. Jesus, I want to step into all the freedom that You made available to me. Show me what this means. Help me turn every temptation around to become an opportunity for training in righteousness.
