Discovery Bible

Discover what God wants to speak to you from His word today.

God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

He will hide us in Him. His refuge is a place of reprieve from the pressures from which we’re trying to escape. There we will find comfort, strength, and begin to see from His perspective.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:2

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you can hide. His truth will be your shield and protection. Psalm 91:4

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. Psalm 27:5

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32:7

My desire as a follower of Jesus is to be strong in Him.

I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

David was greatly distressed ... but David found strength in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30:6

Being strong in the Lord and being trained for spiritual battle looks like finding strength in the Lord. It is found through running into His refuge/fortress/rock/wings. And in the strength from Him, clothed in His armor, we stand firm. (Eph 6:10-18)

I don’t want to settle any more for the false sense of escape. Instead, I choose true solace, true refuge, true comfort, true strengthening, I choose to go to You each day, in the secret place, for these things.

May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. 1 Thessalonians 3:13
