The One My Heart Loves

Who is this coming up from the desert leaning on her lover?

Song of Songs 8:5

The desert is where I got desperate for God’s love. I was unsatisfied with only knowing about His love. My heart yearned for Him to fill every room; every crevice of my heart.

Process to Freedom

The “desert season” followed the time of busyness mentioned in the following video:

Come away with Me

Song of Songs 2:10

Until we come away with Him, just Him alone, and learn to be alone with Him, begin building that intimacy with Him, we can’t know Him as the Number One Person that satisfies our soul.

... who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said. Luke 10:39b

I want to be that “who”. I want to be someone who sits at Jesus’ feet, listening to what He says.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.  John 15:9

“Remain”, according to the Strong’s Concordance, means:

  • to stay, abide, wait for
  • not to depart, not to leave, to continue to be present
  • to be held or kept, continually

Mornings with Him

I don’t spend time with God because I have to, out of religious obligation, but because I need to. I need to be renewed, reminded, refreshed in His love every morning, for the health of my heart.

It’s not about “I gotta get that quiet time in each day”. It’s not about, “My quiet time isn’t religious. If I’m busy for a while, God gets it, He’ll be fine”. It’s about meeting with Him. Knowing we have met with God and He has met with us. It’s about not neglecting the secret place.

Tip:
Make a set time with the Lord each day in the morning and try to keep to it as much as possible, as much as you would with a friend. Don’t compartmentalize (weekends are for me, weekdays are for Him; Sundays are for Him, the other 6 days are for me).
