You asked me to lay everything down, to show me Yourself, again in a desert. And here I am. The proof of a great change in my heart. That on my birthday, a day on which I could not imagine being alone, I heard Your invitation to be alone with me. And I knew that You were enough (far more than enough) for me.

God has steadily challenged me in the areas where I said “I cannot!“ - the areas I was holding on to because I really didn’t believe He was enough for me. As soon as I stopped saying I WILL NOT, He kept bringing the challenges deeper and deeper.

I CANNOT lay down drinking (even though the choices I made with alcohol were not good for me).
2008 - I CAN (with You)

I CANNOT lay down pursuing lust because of the temporary comfort it brings (even though it was so not good for me!).
2010 - I CAN (with You)

I CANNOT be single (and sexless) for even one more year!!
2010-present - I CAN (with You)

I CANNOT permanently shut the door on masturbation (even though it wasn’t beneficial for me).
2019 - I CAN (with You)

I CANNOT spend 6 weekends with all my own sources of “satisfaction“ laid down, to only spend time in Your Word.
2021 - I CAN (with You)

I CANNOT give up my weekend junk food binging (even though it wasn’t good for me).
2021 - I CAN (with You)

I CANNOT spend my birthday night alone.
2021 - I CAN (with You)

I WILL NOT buy a new single bed (even though my mattress was broken and causing back pain) because I want to be married soon and what’s the point of a new single bed at this stage?!
2024 - the day I rescinded my “no way!”, a bed literally arrived at my doorstep (super funny miracle story!).

I CAN do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!

Nothing else can truly satisfy. He is taking you by the hand, and saying, “Come with Me, come in deeper, there's so much I want to show you.“

Will you say yes?
