I am my lover’s and my lover is mine.
Song of Songs 6:3a
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
As a single in the spiritual sense, I had been doing things on my own. That requires carrying a lot of burdens... But Jesus invites us to take His yoke, to find rest in place of weariness and burden. To unite ourselves with Him, to work as one unit...
A yoke “unites two elements to work as one unit..."1
But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17
... and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery - but I am talking about Christ and the church. Ephesians 5:31b-32

Thank You for showing me another picture of what it looks like to be married to You - a modern-day image of what it looks like to be yoked together with You - sitting side-by-side in a car. You have been teaching me how to walk out what You have called me to - by staying in ‘the car’ with You!!
Talk with Jesus
What are You speaking to me about this? How are You leading me to respond to Your love?
