The watchmen found me as they made their rounds in the city. “Have you seen the one my heart loves?” Scarcely had I passed them when I found the One my heart loves.
I held Him and would not let Him go.
Song of Songs 3:3-4a
Journal Entry, Age 37
When I don’t understand, I will choose to trust You.
Abraham would not have understood when You asked him to sacrifice Isaac. But he trusted You completely.
Abraham’s trust in You was submitted, surrendered, reverent trust. Totally committed to You, utterly sure because he knows the One in whom he trusts. I repent for having had irreverent expectation; expectation that You should do something the way I think it should be done. Time and time again, this had resulted in being disappointed in You during times of great shaking in the areas of my life I hold dearest, and briefly turning my heart from You :’(. You are God. Your ways are higher.
Whatever way You will do it, have Your way.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:10
... because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. Hebrews 11:11
I want to be counted among those who considered You as faithful! To be one that holds on to You and will not let You go, no matter what shakings are occurring in my life.
That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, “Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.” Hebrews 3:10
I want to be one who trusts Your ways always, even when I don’t understand, because I know You are good - a faithful God who does NO wrong (Deut 32:4; Psalm 92:15). I want to be one whose heart does not go astray.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9
And my righteous ones will live by faith. Hebrews 10:38 NLT
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
But we are not of those who shrink back,... but of those who believe... Hebrews 10:39
By faith... he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible. Hebrews 11:27
Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble. Cry aloud to me, and I will be there to rescue you. Psalm 50:15 TPT
What are You speaking to me about this? How are You leading me to respond to Your love?
